About the Hotel

We have confirmed with the L'Enfant Plaza hotel that they are full for the nights of June 24 & 25.

There are a few nearby hotels for L'Enfant Plaza:

* Courtyard by Marriott Convention Center - 202.638.4600
* Holiday Inn Capitol - 202.479.4000
* Hotel Washington - 202.638.5900
* JW Marriott - 202.393.2000
* Mandarin Oriental Washington - 202.554.8588 (This is the closest hotel
to L'Enfant Plaza)
* The Mayflower - 202.347.3000

The DC metro is very, very good. Just about any hotel in DC (except in Alexandria or Georgetown) is very likely to be a short walk to the metro, and the GECCO hotel is right at a metro stop. Metro is safe, cheap, and easy to use.

(Please also note - these hotels have been provided by the Washington Convention Bureau, which means we, (GECCO/AAAI), are not endorsing them in any way.)

Important USA Travel Advice Regarding Visas:

If you are planning to attend GECCO and are arriving from outside of the United States please plan for USA visa requirements. This website has information about visa requirements:

Speakers and other attendees! We advise you not to procrastinate about finding out what procedures you will have to complete. In some cases, depending on what country you are coming from, there is little to do. In other cases, the process may be quite thorough and it might take more than a month simply to get an appointment to ask for a visa. For example, the following web site tells you how long you will have to wait to get an appointment to ask for a visa:

Please do not hesitate to ask at for an invitation letter in order to make your case to obtain a visa. These letters apparently are helpful when you are being interrogated by a consul.
