conference will be held at the Red Lion Hotel on Fifth
Avenue in Seattle, with nearby student housing. This is readily
accessible to the Seattle/Tacoma international airport by public
transportation, shuttles, and taxi, and is uniquely positioned
within a bustling and fascinating downtown neighborhood featuring
the best shopping, theaters and cultural attractions on the
West Coast.

Conference
attendees must identify themselves as GECCO-2004 registrants
to qualify for the reduced conference rates.
The
Red Lion is located in the heart of Seattle's downtown and
is easily accessible from the SEA-TAC Airport. The Red Lion
is offering rooms to GECCO attendees at the reduced rate of
$135 per night plus tax (currently 15.6%) for single or double
occupancy. Please make your reservations by contacting the
hotel no later than Friday, June 4, 2004. After the cut-off
date, reservations will be accepted on a space available basis.
After the cut-off date, the reduced conference rate may not
be available and the going room rate will apply. The hotel
requires that all reservations must be accompanied by a first
night room deposit, or be guaranteed with a major credit card.
Their cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to 6:00 PM the
day of arrival to avoid a charge equal to one night's room
and tax.

Many major attractions are within walking distance of Hostelling

From Sea-Tac Airport to Downtown:
A)
Bus, $1.25 - $2.00 one way. Take the #194 Metro bus (express
bus with limited service - check airport timetables) to the
downtown University Street Station (underground). Exit to
the ground level at 2nd Avenue and University Street. Walk
WEST on University Street one block to 1st Avenue. Turn NORTH
(right) one block to Union Street. Go down the stairs at NORTHWEST
corner of 1st and Union. The hostel entrance is at the bottom
of the steps.
