ISGEC-SIGEVO

The ISGEC - SIGEVO Transition

On January 1, 2005, the former International Society for Genetic and Evolutionary Computation became ACM SIGEVO! Our current members automatically became members of SIGEVO. If you joined ISGEC in 2004 and were entitled to receive the journals Evolutionary Computing and Genetic Programming & Evolvable Machines in 2005, your subscription will continue as before. Persons newly joining SIGEVO will pay a much reduced membership fee of $25/year, in which the journal subscriptions are not included. However, SIGEVO membership WILL continue to entitle members to reduced registration rates for the GECCO conferences and the FOGA workshops. You may join SIGEVO without joining or being a member of ACM.

If you would like a SIGEVO Membership, please follow this link

Follow this link to visit the original ISGEC web pages, including to gain access to information about earlier GECCO meetings and ISGEC status through December, 2004.

The International Society for Genetic and Evolutionary Computation has created the honorary membership categories of Fellow (for persons under 45 years of age) and Senior Fellow (for older persons) to recognize members of the society who have made important and sustained contributions to the field and the society. The initial group of Fellows and Senior Fellows were elected by secret ballot of all society members in spring, 2003.

Each year, two additional Fellows and two additional Senior Fellows will be elected by the society's membership. Four persons will be nominated in each category, half by the current Fellows and Senior Fellows and half by the Executive Board of the ISGEC.
