Discounts for SIGEVO and ACM Members


SIGEVO and ACM Members are eligible to receive a discount on registration rates. You need to belong to either SIGEVO or ACM to get the same discount.

Join ACM:
ACM Members are eligible for the members discount on registration for SIGEVO-sponsored events. ACM membership does not include SIGEVO membership.

-The Conference Proceedings and the Tutorial Notes in electronic format
-Admission to each session of the 3-day conference: either a tutorial or one of the sessions in which accepted papers are presented

Payment and Cancellation Policy

ACM GEC Summit accepts payment by credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) and wire transfer. Registration is not complete until payment has been received. Bank information for wire transfer is available on the online registration system.

No cancellations or refunds will be given, but a registered individual may transfer their registration to another person. The registered individual must make the request for the transfer to Registration Support prior to the start of the conference.


About the Registration Requirement for Authors and Presenters

GEC World Summit requires at least one author (the presenting author) of each accepted full or poster paper to complete a paid registration by the AUTHOR REGISTRATION DEADLINE, MARCH 23, 2009, or the paper will be removed from the proceedings.

One registered author may register for, and present, at most, one full paper and one poster paper, or two poster papers. No one author may present more than one full paper unless he/she is the sole author of both of those papers.

If authors other than the registered presenting author wish to attend the conference, those authors must also complete a paid registration. No person can attend the conference without paying the registration fee.

Travel Visa Support

A valid passport and visa are required to enter China. Visas must be obtained from Chinese Embassies and Consulates before traveling to China.

Letters from ACM

International registrants should be particularly aware and careful about visa requirements, and should plan travel well in advance. All visa support inquiries must be handled by ACM headquarters.

Please note that ACM does not issue formal "letters of invitation" to any of its conferences.

Please send your request for a letter in support of a visa application to the Office of SIG Services
() at ACM headquarters:

Your request must include:

  • Name as it appears on your passport
  • Residence address and a ship-to address if different
  • The name of the conference you wish to attend
  • Registration confirmation number
  • If you have any papers accepted for the conference, please indicate whether you are the sole author or a co-author, and provide the full title of the paper
  • Fax number

Please Note: Visa Support letters are not issued via email.
